Covid-19 Policies
Feed My Starving Children staff will be working to maintain a clean and safe environment and to minimize exposure risk. Please follow all instructions and do your part to keep us all safe and healthy.
Masks
FMSC will follow CDC guidelines on masking. At this time masks are not required.
It is highly recommended that all MobilePack attendees wear masks, regardless of vaccination status. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own masks, but disposable masks will be provided by FMSC.
FMSC staff is trained on CDC policies on symptoms of Covid-19. They will be asking the following question of each volunteer prior to entering the packing room.
- Are you currently experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 or a fever?
Note: FMSC will not ask the vaccination status of staff, pack hosts, or volunteers.
Packing Protocols
1. Handwashing units will be provided and hands must be washed before packing any food.
2. Hands should be washed immediately should they be used to cover a sneeze or cough.
3. All participants should avoid touching their face, in particular the mouth, nose and eyes.
4. Gloves will be worn at all positions except for labeling and sealing.
5. When praying over the food, everyone will stay at their places and extend arms toward the food.
Social Distancing
As on OSHA regulated workplace, FMSC implements social distancing during a MobilePack. This means:
1. Each packing group will have no more than 10 people.
2. Each packing station will have a 6 foot radius between other packing stations.
3. Groups will be dismissed to allow for social distancing in hallways and at handwashing stations.
Sanitizing and Disinfecting
FMSC will bring disinfecting solutions, and will follow CDC guidelines, for cleaning and sanitizing the workplace and high touch surfaces before the event, between shifts, and after the event.
If a volunteer reports a Covid-19 positive case, extra disinfecting will be implemented. This could cause a session to be cancelled or delayed to allow time for proper cleaning.
MarkePlace
The MarketPlace will be modified to minimize exposure.
