There’s a big mission happening in St. Louis this weekend that will have a global impact.
Volunteers will pack one million meals for children in need. The work started Friday with volunteers from several local schools.
This is the 17th year for Feed the Need St. Louis. The organization, Feed My Starving Children, puts on meal packing events throughout the country.
The goal is to pack one million meals, which will feed 2,700 kids one meal for an entire year. Feed My Starving Children has a goal of packing 460 million meals in 2023.

Local food-packing event hits new record
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Manchester has announced it again will host a Feed My Starving Childre [FMSC] food-packing event in 2019 after this year’s effort set new records.
The record number of meals packed was nearly 45,000 higher than this year’s goal.

What started 11 years ago as one church’s effort to address the childhood malnutrition problem around the world has evolved into an annual program involving volunteers and donors numbering in the thousands from dozens of organizations and businesses throughout the area.
